The Workforce Investment Act was created to design and implement a comprehensive workforce investment system that is customer focused. The system assists Southeastern Oklahoma to access the tools they need to manage their careers through information and high quality services. Particular emphasis is being placed on the design and implementation of services that will be of interest and assistance to area businesses and will provide another tool to help those business find skilled workers.

Choctaw, Haskell, Latimer, LeFlore, McCurtain, Pittsburg and Pushmataha

The Southeast Area Workforce Investment Board is recognized by the Oklahoma Employment Commission, the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, Governor's Council for Workforce and Economic Development and the Governor as the proper body to carry out the purposes and functions of the Workforce Investment Act of 1998.
